How to Use the Directory

This directory attempts to list every museum or collection of road transport vehicles in the United Kingdom and Southern Ireland that are open to the public. Many of the museums are devoted to road transport exhibits only. Others have significant or interesting collections of vehicles that are part of some other exhibition. An example of this latter type of museum might be the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry, where the important collection of locally built motor vehicles is only a relatively small part of the whole. The details given were correct at the time of publication, days and times of opening may change during the year. If you are in doubt please telephone the museum concerned before visiting.
