KNIGHT TO TAKE ON NEW WORLDWIDE ROLE AT BONHAMS (23 Dec 2005)

James Knight, Managing Director of Bonhams New Bond Street, has just accepted his latest challenge - taking over worldwide responsibility for the company's Collectors' Motor Car Department. Commenting on James' new brief Chairman Robert Brooks said: "James Knight will head a unified worldwide motor car department from January 1st 2006. This position has been needed for some time as we have grown into the world market leader in this category and I am delighted that Jamie has taken on this new challenge." It becomes James' sole responsibility from January 1st 2006. The Steve McQueen Collection Brings More Than $1-million
Fans and Aficionados Vie for “King of Cool’s” Collectibles

Admiration for the “King of Cool” fueled bidding on Saturday, November 11, 2006 as Bonhams & Butterfields offered and sold property from the widow of Steve McQueen at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles -- bringing more than $1-million for vintage motorcycles, biking memorabilia, home furnishings and antique toys acquired by the actor and his wife Barbara. Motorbikes from various owners and Steve McQueen memorabilia from other collections brought as much as $1.9-million for a grand total of $2.9-million for the day.


BONHAMS FLOGS 1903 GEORGES RICHARD BROUGHAM TWICE IN THREE DAYS (07 Nov 2006)

The 1903 Georges Richard Type H 10hp Twin Cylinder Two-Seater Brougham, a well-known participant in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, took part again this year, two days after making top price of £87,300 at Bonhams’ London to Brighton sale on Friday 3 November. This totally unique car, owned and campaigned for many years by the late Lord David Strathcarron, was bought by Sir Ray Tindle who is himself a regular participant in the Run. Tindle Newspapers and Bonhams are both sponsors of the event.


PRESCOTT HITS THE SPOT AGAIN (01 Nov 2005)

If you have never had the opportunity to be at Prescott, then you have once again missed out this year. The V.S.C.C., annual hillclimb event is an institution and if there was ever a good reason for not emigrating in these days of discontent then this would be it for me. I cannot imagine that any event in the world can rival the spirit of vintage motoring that abounds on this hillside during the weekend.
