Next time you're overtaken by something that looks like the car from the picture above, pay attention to the badge on the boot. Does it say 6.3? Geneva Show back in 1968 had honour to present an unusual car to the world. It was Mercedes 300 SEL featuring the 6.3 V8 engine straight from their top-of-the-range limo 600. The car, until then powered by the motor half the size, transformed itself into a supercar while still remaining a luxurious cruiser. By the time its production terminated in September 1972, 6,526 cars were sold, one important racing victory recorded and the model voted "Car of The Year".
