I trained as an aeronautical engineer and subsequently spent 10 years working for motor manufacturers on all aspects of design and development. I was a regular competitor in motor races in the UK and Europe in the 1960's winning the Autosport Championship in 1961 and finishing 2nd in the 500km race at the Nurburgring in 1963 and numerous other awards. For the past 30 years I have been working in the financial world as an investment adviser. Over the past 35 years I have acted as an engineer/valuer for the historic motor insurance schemes run by the Cornhill and KGM at Lloyds and various Loss Assessors. I have also been retained by Vauxhall Motors to value their entire collection for insurance purposes. In addition I have valued numerous collections of historic cars for Probate. I regularly attend the historic car auctions and subscribe
to most of the monthly journals dealing with this subject. I have a
collection of 6 historic cars and received the Transport Trust's premier
award in 1999. |
