ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

The Michael Sedgwick Trust is funding an ongoing oral history project. Using professional equipment and professional interviewers the Trust sets out to record the life and thoughts of people who have spent many years in some aspect of motoring. Believing that most famous names are well recorded, the Trust is concentrating on the backroom boys and lesser known individuals. Suggested names for future interviews are welcomed by Secretary, Malcolm Parsons.

Amongst those people who have recorded for the Sedgwick Trust are Theo Sherer (Riley and Squire anecdotes), the late Edward Riddle (Designer at Scammell and with other heavy goods vehicle connections), Ken Smith (worked at Citroen, Slough), Dr. Alex Moulton (Designer with particular reference to suspensions), Roger Menadu (worked with Donald Healey).

We Need Your Help

The Michael Sedgwick Trust needs a computer literate person of any age to collate the numerous taped interviews that are available to us. We could also do with someone to help with the interviewing process. The Trust also requires assistance to help with other projects as they develop, including the sorting of the complete records of the Meadows Engine and Gearbox Factory.
